Hello all
we're planning to upgrade a cluster
from version 4.X to 8.5
i know it has to be a 2 step process
we're also getting new hardware
my question is
when we run the dma on the cucum pub version 4.x to go to version 7.1.3
on the new server (new hardware) is it required to have the same ip address, same hostname as the old publisher ?
or could you have the new server on a new subnet, new hostname and just do a restore of the data ?
thanks

You can have them new. During DMA import it will detect the change in IPs and and hostnames and just warn you about the change, and you can proceed.

Hi,
Some helpful documentation about that:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/7_1_2/upgrd712.html#wp44202
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/7_1_2/upgrd712.html#wp43800
Hope it helps, please rate if it does.
Kind regards,
- Adrian.

Id probably stick the same IP and hostname if you can..... at least until you get the server and running in 7.1.3. TAC is saying (or at least I have heard) do NOT do any hostname or IP changes once you are in 8.5. There is too much security and settings tied into the 8.5 db now.
