CUOM 8.6 - Device Discovery Issue

I have installed CUOM 8.6 in window 2008 Server. I have also opened the following ports (allowed exceptions) on the windows firewall as per the installation Document

Description of ServiceProtocolPort Number
CUOM Web ServerTCP 1741
CUOM HTTPS TCP4431
CUSM SFTP ServerTCP22
CUOM Trap Listener UDP161
CUOM Trap Listener UDP162
CUOM Syslog ReceiverUDP514
CUSM Syslog ReceiverUDP5666

In addition i have also enabled echo request for ping, and opened network discovery ports. But i am not able to discover any devices. i get a not reachable message, even though i am able to ping from the server. But if disable the firewall, everything is discoverable.

Any ideas on what else to allow on firewall??

Hi,

I had a problem close/somehow similar to yours few days back, lets see if you come right. I ended up degrading my CUOM to be on the same version as CUCM, sounds crazy but it worked.

Let's see what others say, but do confirm you CUCM vs CUOM versions - m not sure if one needs to change/load MIBS for CUOM 8.6 to manage earlier versions of CUCM or it is totally not supporting. If it's not supporting, i believe something needs to be done.

My CUOM Version is 8.5. Well my issue is only initial discovery of devices. Once the devices are discovered, turning on the firewall still gives me the incident reports.

Also another issue i am seeing is, CUOM is not detecting ATA's. Do you see any issues with ATA's?

I think you should maybe install CUOM 8.5 on a separate box to test if you'll experience the same challenge as now, i know this sounds strange but try it - try installing CUOM 8.5 (same version as your CUCM) on a separate box or degrade the current installation.

As for ATA's, i'm not sure if they are monitored - were they monitored in your previous implementation of it's your first time discovering them? Please see below:
