CUPCv8 Vs CUPCv7 on CUPS v 8

Greeting All

I`m actually deplying CUCMBE version 8.0 and CUPS version 8

Everything is ok except that :

When i`m using CUPCv8 i can`t use my softphone however with version 7 it`s working perfectly (i check the release note for verison 8 and it`s compatible with my CUCM and CUPS)

With both version i can`t search the local directory, i have to add users manually for all the end hosts !!!! and i think it`s not supposed to work like this

Just a side note i`m not using any LDAP integration!

With Personal Communicator 8, Cisco has changed up the way the softphone works.  CUPC version 7 is configured in CUCM as "Cisco Unified Personal Communicator".  CUPC version 8 is configured in CUCM as "Cisco Unified Client Services Framework".  My guess is all your phones are setup the old way which will not work in CUPC 8.  Your CUPC 8 clients are likely not registered to CUCM.

You will need to integrate into an LDAP directory to use the directory search functionality.

Can you please provide a config guide for that, does the DEvice name has to have CUPUSERXX !

If you read from here onwards of the Presence Deployment Guide (it's updated for 8.5, but the instructions are still relevant to 8.0), you'll see what is required. But basically the devices don't have to start with particular characters, but it's often good practise to start them with the letters CSF (for Cisco Unified Client Services Framework).
