Disabling Telnet VG224 / VG310 & Beyond

Hello World!

Due to such security risk with telnet enabled on VTY. Is there an SSH option and to disable Telnet on current VG224 and newer models?  We are in the works of replacing VG224's with a mix of VG350/320/310's for EOL reasons but also need to get Telnet disabled.

Thanks in advance

If you have enabled SSH on your VG224, you should be able to add the command "transport input ssh" to the vty ports. That will allow SSH and not allow other protocols (like telnet). Have you tried that? Or you did and it didn't take?

I personally haven't tried it. It's a managed device that we do not have
access to. Our hosted partner that does manage it , is slightly not
customer friendly.

I've only seen telnet protocols being supported on spec sheets for these
devices , and nothing mentioned about SSH. I would hate to spend the money
for the upgrades and still be in the same boat.

Thanks

We've found that the code didn't support SSH. Worked with our hosted Vendor to test the upgraded code that does support SSH.

vg224-i6s-mz.151-4.M12a.bin to vg224-i6k9s-mz.151-4.M12a.bin

All is well now.

Thanks!
