Federation between OCS 2007 and CUPS 8.x

Hi,

We have recently installed OCS 2007 and CUPS 8.x. The customer is wanting to utilize both clients and IM between them. The problem is, both of these servers are in the same domain. I'm not sure about OCS, but I was wondering if we could change the CUPS domain to something different, maybe keep the initial domain: company.com, but add a prefix onto it like cups.company.com. I'm not sure if that would be seen as a different domain. My other concern is if changing the CUPS domain would break or keep them from being able to utilize the main features such as, LDAP directory lookup/authentication, Voicemail access to Cisco Unity, etc.

I appreciate any direction and help I can get on this.

Thanks

Changing the SIP proxy domain on CUPS will NOT break features.

Not sure why your client would like to use two IM systems at the same time, but if you're using CUPS 8, XMPP federation might be a better idea than SIP federation.  Future version of CUPS will focus more on XMPP than SIP.

Thanks!
