Finesse Call Control Customization

I am trying to create a custom gadget,  making use of all the existing functionality of Call Control gadget(Cisco default) and use custom phone book instead of default phone book provided by Cisco Finesse.I don't want to recreate the control control gadget.

Is this possible, if yes how and what needs to be taken care ?

Where i can find the call control gadgets APIs ?  Are the callcontrol.jsp code is exposed to customers ? If yes, where can i find the code ?

To be more detail,

I noticed Finesse JavaScript API provides the required class and methods for Finesse call control. My thought of the customization is just the Phone Book but seeing the way call control is tied to the phone book i will be ending up recreating the call control for just using the customized phone book.

Looking forward for suggestions from experts.

You have pretty wide access to the java script library for Finesse.
