How to Change User's Assigned Templates in CUC

DAVID BURKHART

I support 20 school campuses, three additional buildings, and various departments within the administration building. I am using user templates to set the Caller Input for 0 so that the Operator extension points to a receptionist or secretary nearest the called employee. As staff members move to different roles and/or campuses throughout the district, it is very helpful to periodically update them to the templates for their current location. It has been several years since I've done this. I used to know how to do it, but I can't quite recall.

It seems that I need to use the BAT within CUC to delete some portion of all users' accounts without purging them fully, then re-import them with the current location's template assigned to them. If someone could full in the blanks of my memory, I would very much appreciate it!

Most settings including Caller Input can be updated on multiple user accounts using the Bulk Edit feature. (Look for the button when you list "Users".) You can search for a set of users and select the ones you want to edit. Does that cover the level of detail you are looking for?  (Note that you cannot Bulk Edit PINs and passwords even though it looks like you can.)

On CiscoUnityTools.com  there are tools like "Unity Connection Audiotext Manager" and "Connection Alias and Extension Update Utility" that can reconfigure user accounts including caller input, although that is not in bulk.

Would either of these options do what you need them to do?

Indeed, the first suggestion is what I was looking for. I was able to filter by Department (in my case, the same as Campus), then use the Bulk Edit to update all those users' Caller Input to route 0 to their local operator. Thank you for your assistance!
