You'll need to get install instructions from Veritas and Net IQ - we don't reproduce their installation guides or write our own for their applications. There's nothing "unity specific" about the backup install for instance. For a brief period several years ago we did have instructions for the backup installs but as new versions of their product came out they would quickly get out of sync so we direct folks to the vendor's documentation instead now.

Hi Jerry -

You can reference this Symantec site for Veritas Backup installation procedures on Windows servers. http://seer.support.veritas.com/NAV_BAR/clustersearch.asp?SrchPageID=adv_search_module.asp&highlight=off&group=on&SearchArea=All&rc=25&SearchTerm=netbackup&ddProduct=BEWNT&ProductVersion=&ddOS=&method=and&show_seer=1&show_pdf=1&include_techfiles=1

Netbackup is not installed on the Unity server. You will require a separate server for running the backup application. Only a remote agent gets installed on the Unity and CallManager server. Here is a link for Unity on guidelines for backup using an application other than DiRT - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_maintenance_guide_chapter09186a0080443809.html#wp1073824. In our installation, we use CallManager's own backup utility and place that on a networked drive that is backed up by the Veritas application. We are not using Net IQ yet on Unity, but I know there is a specific agent that is required for monitoring voice servers. Looks like 6.0 is now available - http://www.netiq.com/products/am/modules/cisco.asp

I don't see Net IQ specifically mentioned in the supported software for Unity. When/if our data center implements this application, we will test with Unity in the lab first. One last thing, when you run the backups on Unity, make sure the backup time does not conflict with Unity's SQL backup. I also moved the MWI resynch to a different time as well.
