Is ESX5.5 U3 compatible with CUCM 11.5

Hi

We have CUCM 11.5.1.13901-3 OVA (version 1) deployed on ESXi 5.5 host with Express patch 3.

I am now planning to apply ESXi 5.5 Patch 11 and trying to find if this will be compatible with CUCM or are there any known issues.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Jamie

Thanks for your inputs. I went through this article however, it is not clear if the update versions are also compatible.

  • Cisco Collaboration apps do not prescribe or proscribe individual ESXi patches and updates. Cisco recommendation is to apply the latest patches and updates recommended by VMware and your hardware vendor. The following links can be used to determine if an individual Maintenance Release or patch "can" or "should" be deployed:

Do you mean to refer to the same article as you posted before?

Yes, that's from the same link I posted.

Could you please help me point where it says ESXi 5.5 patch 11 will or will not work with CUCM 11.5?

Hi Jamie

Hi there

CUCM virtualization document doesn't recommend the patch versions. As per the Virtualization guide,

Supported Versions of VMware vSphere ESXi= 5.0 U1, 5.1, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5

Hope this helps!

Hi Rath

Thanks for your inputs. Does that mean the updates should be compatible with these versions?

Hi there

As far as I know, as long as the major version of Esxi is mentioned, you are good to go. But for a double confirmation, you could open up a ticket with Cisco PDI. Here is the link for that

Hope this helps!
