Hello community
Environment:
CUCM 11.5.1.11900-26
Jabber for Windows 11.8.3
AD LDS (Windows Server 2012) (port: 50001, secure-port: 50002)
I setup an AD LDS instance and sync all users from multiple forests to this instance.
All users can login with Jabber.
I setup the following UC Service in CUCM. But no contact will be found.
UC Service Type: Directory
Product Type: Enhanced Directory
Name: xxx
Host/IP: x.x.x.x
Port: 50001
Protocol: TCP
Connection Type: Ldap
What can be wrong and how can I troubleshoot this problem?
If you need more information let me know.
Best regards
Michael

Hello Michael,
I am trying to deploy something similar (and this is proving very difficult) and I faced this problem at first.
Try to check in the Jabber > Help > Show Connection Status if the Directory (last status at botton of page) is showing any error (such as authentication, for example).
In my case, I had issues with authentication and noticed that the best option to set username for the AD LDS for the jabber-config.xml and the UC Service Profile is LDAP Distinguished Name.
After that, I discovered that the IM presence, by default, always set the IM Address as username@<presence domain>. I tried to use Directory URI as IM Address Scheme, but I faced some issues (such as login through MRA), so I rollback to Default and I am now trying to find another solution.

Hello
What the status of directory under " show connection status".
I guess if you try jabber 11.7.x , it should work as from jabber 11.8.x NTLM is no more supported.

hello there,
How did it go with ADLDS ? Were you able to sync and Authenticate with ADLDS ?
and also do contact search with ADLDS ?
I have a similar scenario, customer with 3 Forests.
I need to sync users into CUCM and do LDAP authentication, User search from Jabber.
Also need to deploy MRA.
thanks to advise.
