Does anyone know the license type (and/or order number) for using Veritas Backup exec with Unity?
The client already uses the product widely in their network, what is the license comprised of?
Thank you.

Hi -
We use Veritas for backing up Unity. You need to contact your Veritas rep for licensing information - this is not provided by Cisco. Since Unity runs SQL (or MSDE 2000), you'll need the Veritas SQL agent to backup OPEN files. We do use DiRT, but only for backing up Unity prior to performing upgrades. And we also break the mirror set beforehand. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_maintenance_guide_chapter09186a0080443809.html#wp1073824

Backing Unity up with Veritas is not supported by Cisco. The only thing you can backup on that server would be a shared folder of the DIRT backup unity does.
sorry man. Mirror drives, copy the DIRT backup out and pray.
cheers
