Hi all,
We have several CUCM v8.6s working and 12 CUEAC clients. The consoles get the directory information through LDAP from our Active Directory used by MS Outlook & OCS. However, the info is not up-to-date and the persons who are responsible for updating the directory are reckless about the problem. Thus, we want to link the CUEAC directory to an external database at our Application Data Server, which will include the up-to date information from the call managers. Is this possible? How can it be implemented?
Regards,
Fikri

Hi
It's probably easiest to create your own AD instance and sync the data from your CUCMs into that (via AXL and LDAP scripting you would write)... then integrate CUEAC to that new AD instance.

Hi Aaron,
It is the easiest, indeed. However, the group responsible for the AD is not us and we have no control over it, that's silly, I know. And since it is not practically possible to make them update the database from the CM or somewhere else, we want to link an external database to the CUEAC server as a directory source.

Hi
That's what I mean - don't use the production/corporate AD; just install a Windows server in it's own domain and promote it to a DC. You then have an empty directory you can do what you want with - it's very each to script creation of accounts, population of numbers etc.
Or use AD LDS if you prefer (a cut down version of AD that your AD folks could create for you, and allow you to modify without affecting the production AD - it could have the users already synchronised in from the real AD that you just add detail to).
