Login Jabber

We are using employee number as userID in CUCM in LDAP sync. Can we login into Jabber with e-mail address instead of user ID?

Short answer is kind of, if you change the Directory URI to be your mail address on the IM&P server (only available in version 10.x and above). You will run into issues like your phone accounts dont sync up, MRA will not work. This will be supported when the Jabber clients support multi-domain support, today its possible but you might end up breaking other stuff.

You can change your CM sync from samaccountID to email but has a flow on impact such as extension mobility, user portal page, etc as George stated
