Migrate UCM BE5K (releas 8.6.2a) on MCS to UCS release 9.1

All,

is there any other way to migrate a MCS BE5K 8.6.2a to UCS BE6K 9.1.1a? I do not want to touch the current HW/SW deployment in production, and from the doc below it looks mandatory to first upgrade the MCS BE5K to release 9.1.1a, exporting the config, and then rebuilding a BE6K UCM/Connection pair and importing.

If/Should  this is the only way, once you set the UCM service parameter 'prepare cluster for rollback to pre-8.0' (page 14 from doc below)  (why is not clear to me, as we start from a MCS with BE5K 9.1.1a) - does it stay operational and can you in the meantime rebuild the BE6K UCM/Connection on the UCS and import all configs on that platform ? The doc is not clear on that.

Any advice is much appreciated !

Juan

We recommend using the same release so you just export and import, you can do the same right now, but most likely you'll need to adjust the exported info before its compatible with the new release.
