Move CUCM VM to New ESXi Server

I have CUCM 9.1.1.20000-5 Pub and Sub, Unity Connections, and Informacast Paging server all on an old Cisco UCS C-200 M2. I currently do not have support on the server or the Cisco software. The servers are all virtualized on ESXi 4.1.0 and are running smoothly, no problems. I am wanting to move these over to my new Nutanix cluster on ESXi 6.0 U2.

My question is can I do this without running into trouble? My ELM for pub and sub is located with Pub IP address and my Unity Connection ELM is on the Unity Connection IP. From my understanding the MAC address cannot change otherwise it will see it as a new install and therefor licenses would have to be renewed. I am wanting to export the VMs over to Nutanix which I have done before and should work no problem. Would I have to hard code the MAC address on those VMs in Nutanix? I know I would also have to have the network parameters match up on Nutanix ESXi side as well. The VM hardware version would be way out of date once it was ported onto ESXi size but I could upgrade that once it was over there.

Basically I am just looking to see if anyone else has done this and if it can be done without having to go and get renewed licenses. Thanks for any and all help.

Hi,

Though ELM uses UUID its indirectly binded to the MAC address.

So you got two options:

1) Get the licenses rehosted after migrating.

2) Use static MAC address for the VM.

In a virtual environment, Enterprise License Manager requires a static MAC address to function properly.
