Hi all,
I'm trying MPE in our Lab with VMware workstation and it works fine (MPE provided from Cisco).
As we'd like to keep it running, we have planned to migrate it to an VMware Esx environnement. So I'm using VMware Converter to import the vmdk image in our ESX server. All is fine, but when I start the server after that, I have a Grub error:
" Grub loading, please wait
Error 18 "
Does someone know why it works on Worstation and not ESX ?
Thx for your help
Fabian

Hello Fabian.
Do you resolve this problem?
If yes, could you describe a solution?
08-11-2008 11:42 PM
No, I didn't solve it. And seems to be impossible. It's related to the geometry of the HDD (IDE with hardware, and SCSI with ESX). But the new NFR with MPX 7.0 is supported with Vmware :p
Just have to wait for it.

Thx for the reply.
When did you read about MPExpress 7.0?
I was finding an information about MPv7 olny.
Alexey.

I didn't read anything about it.
But my Channel SE told me that it will be "vmware" ready (but only for lab/demo purpose again).
But you're right, maybe it will not be mpx7.
Yet, it seems to be the right way... (CUCM 7/ Presence 7 / Unity Connection 7 / Unity 7 / MP 7)

Hi Alexey,
Just to be sure to understand it.
1st Step: You removed all vmware tools. Yes, but from where ? (MPX demo-vmware ??)
2nd Step: Understood to. But you did it on the MPX demo-vmware ???
3rd Step: What do y mean by updated demo-vmware ?
Thx
Fabian

Hi
I didn't create a new VM machine i created only a new SCSI hard disk!!!
1) Yes, it is. I removed all vmware tools from CISCO MPX demo machine
2) I make this procedure on this CISCO MPX demo machine to.
3) You should click "VM" - "Upgrade or Change Version..." on VMWare Workstation console.

Exist file. It is located on the Cisco Demo DVD and is called "VMWare-Readme.pdf"
All logins and passwords is located in the "Include Configuratrion" section.
Sever Login user - root/cisco123
Alternate login user - mpxadmin/cisco123
MPE Web Admin - admin/cisco
