Hello,

We have CUCM cluster 10.5 hosted on M3 server. Now we have got new M5 servers with CUCM 12.5 preloaded. We are looking the option of migrating old CUCM (10.5) to new (12.5) with prime.  Is it possible on two different servers. All the videos/guides i have seen are not clear as it showing on same server. Please let us know the possibilities.

Yes, that's possible, it can be on the same server, which is not the usual thing to do, the most common scenario is to migrate from an old server to a new server.

if this helps, please rate

Yes its possible.

Install PCD on M5 server. And use that for migrating from old to new server.

Thank you @Jaime Valencia @Nithin Eluvathingal for your replies.

Once we done the migration, Will there be any affect on old cucm hosted on M3?

How about the license part. Does the license will migrate or we need to rehost the licenses on new server.

If you are migrating to  with same IP, it will shut down the old.

10.x  to 12.X is major upgrade, you cannot use 10.x on 12.x. if your existing CUCM has valid SWSS you can place upgrade order through MCE and you get your new licenses.

12.X use smart licensing.

You must to go through Upgrade and Migration Guide
