PCD - DNS really needed?

In Prime Collaboration Deployment, install guide, says PCD  requires that you use a DNS server. However in the Release Notes it states: "If you require DNS on a PCD system, be sure to administer the DNS during PCD install".

If there is no DNS for the existing CUCMs and not for the new CUCM's, do we really need DNS enabled? I just want to avoid any surprises...

You can do the installation.It works without DNS.

It doesn't work without DNS, im trying do that, but when the installation of the publisher starts show a erroe message that the DNS no match
