Dear All,
I have a question.
I am running Call Manager Pub and Sub.
And all my phones are registered with Subscriber.
Let suppose i switch off my Sub and i need to register a new ip phone to call manager.
Will it be registered or not. I have enabled auto registeration on the Sub.
Kindly clear my confusion.
I will be very thankful to you.
Regards,
Malik.

As long as the TFTP service is running on the Publisher and you have the Publisher's IP address in option 150 on the DHCP service, the phone should register. The CallManager service will have to be running on the Publisher for the server to route calls.

One thing is
a) the phone is already configured and you just want it to register
b) new phone and you want auto-registration
If PUB is down on
a) yes, it will register
b) no, it won't auto-register as this requires the CUCM PUB DB to happen.
Other than UFF any other feature related to new phones or changes is locked down when PUB is not available

If the publisher's IP is present as an entry for option 150, it should register. It doesnt matter where the DHCP service is running.

PUB and SUB should show as the registered servers at an initial stage. So if SUB is offline, phone activities will be taking charged by PUB. Two things needs to be right here:
TFTP address on the phone should be pointing to the PUB address and auto-register should be enable to make your life easy. If you don't want auto register then you will have to register the phone manually.
