Prime Collab. Assurance - SNMP Polling for Trunk Utilization

I am looking at the Trunk Utilization and the Route Group/Trunk Group Utilization graphs in PCA - Analytics.

I have a large number of T1-PRI trunks at remote sites, and I need to see the maximum number of calls per month.

For example, a remote site has a single gateway with 2 x T1-PRI circuits. The two PRIs listed under Trunk Utilization will show 22 channels max concurrent, but the same device listed under Route Group/Trunk Group will show only 12 as the max concurrent calls. This is over 4 weeks.

Why the difference? How often does PCA poll the gateway for Utilization, every 5 minutes?

I assume the Trunk Utilization and the Route Group/Trunk Group Utilization are using the same data from SNMP Polling, but why is there a difference in the numbers?

Thanks, Randy

The default polling interval is 4 minutes, and it is a snapshot of calls at that time, not an average. You can change the default polling interval by going to Administration > Alarm and Event Setup > Polling Settings.

For my purposes, a much better way to track usage is to use RTMT. I can look at the SIP trunk that connects to the gateway, and poll every 10 seconds.
