Real-Time Monitor Tool: best practices

Bob Greer

Level 4

Hi there,

Thanks for reading.

We have a 10.5.2 environment of CUCMs.  Our RTMTs are capturing alerts but we haven't configured to ever 'hear' them doh!  Is there a document for best practices on configuring alerting on RTMT?  I've been charged with finding said practices and deploying accordingly.

Thanks again!

Bob

I doubt you will find that documented in any one single place. As far as you know how to configure your RTMT to send email alerts (to an admin or a DL) you can just explore the RTMT and setup/fine tune main alerts according to your needs:

If you go to Tools>Alert Central - There are three types of alerts:

1) System Level:

Enable the critical ones to send email alert. Some of the main ones:

Server Down

Critical Service Down

Cisco DRF Failure

2) Call Manager

DBReplication Failure

Number of Registered Media Devices Decreased

Number of Registered phones dropped

3) Any Custom Alerts

You can go to Performance tab and set up any custom alert you need.

Below post has sufficient links if you have any doubt on how to do that. (+5 venperum )
