Hi All,
We are planning to configure the scheduled trace collection in rtmt and we would like to ask some questions regarding the setup. Here is the link that we will use as a reference also. https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/collaboration-voice-and-video/cucm-trace-lookup-for-different-scenarios/ta-p/3150923
1. Am I correct to say that Schedule Start Date/Time and Schedule End Date/Time is the range of date and time wherein rtmt will collect and send the file to the sftp/ftp server?
2. For the settings of frequency and collect files generated in the last. If we set it to hourly for frequency and 1 hour collect files generated in the last, does it mean that rtmt will collect and send the file every an hour? Since this is the low duration for the frequency, is it a safe range since we will collect the logs for every 1 hour or 60 minutes? Will it affect the operation or process of the cucm, like calls will be drop or it will affect the calls, etc?
Appreciate your advise and inputs.
Thank you.

Hi,
Your understanding is correct, however sftp'ing the files to a remote server via RTMT does not usually affect the call processing or other functions. As a precaution though you can first test exporting the files during one of the busy hours of the day and if the CPU / mem / disk usage is fine ( show status ) then you can safely implement it for the time duration you want.

Hi Manish,
Thank you for your reply. It means that it will just depend on the exporting of files in the RTMT if the CUCM will increase its utilization and verify if the calls will be affected? Right?

Yes, that is correct. You can also check the output of "show status" from the server which is exporting the traces to see the RAM, disk and CPU usage impact.
