Restore DRS Unity Connection

  1. Backup the old publisher
  2. Install a new publisher with the same parameters IP, GW, DNS, NTP....
  3. Run the Restore wizard of the New publisher

I presume the redacted text is your SFTP server? If yes, are you using PCD because it’s the only supported option since they killed off generic OpenSSH support.

Validating DRS can actually restore successfully is a worthwhile effort on it’s own merits; however, you could have exported and imported the VM between hosts from VMware if you’re only goal is to move it. A vMotion while the VM is powered off would also work, if you have vCenter and the config in place.

Yes the only goal is to move the publisher to another ESXi.

Also I am using SFTP  for server backup and restore. I ididnt use PCD.

PCD is now the only supported SFTP server option for DRS backup/restore. Link above is supporting documentation. Don’t shoot the messenger; I don’t like it either.

What do you mean by ' dont shoot the messenger' ?
