Hi, my manager asking if he want to test the recovering for CUCM database and current CUCM server does not have any issues. He just want to see how it work. He not accept to view the video from youtube. He want to do it on live. Can I just backup the CUCM database and restore CUCM database in live server? Will this give CUCM an issues?
Thank you.

I would recommend you to do this.
- Turn off the CM system
- Create a clone of the VM(s) that you want to restore
- Start the cloned VM(s)
- Do the restore
- Verify functionality
- Once done turn off the cloned VM(s)
- Start up your original VMs
With this you will not affect your current system. For this you’d need to have a maintenance window as it would be a service affecting type of work. To be clear doing a restore on your current system would also be service affecting and is associated with a certain number of risks, so it would not be recommended.
