Single inbox with multiple Exchange servers with multiple domains

if we have multiple exchange servers (different versions) within different domains and locations (physical regions) and we want to deploy Single inbox - do we need an exchange service for each exchange server or can we use a discover procedure ? if we use a discover procedure then will one service be adequate for all the servers ?

what happens if there are different domain - do we need one for each domain - what's the maximum number we can have ?

I assume the RTD between locations will also come into play here between UC and the exchange environment ?  TIA...Jeff

SIB leverages normal Exchange AutoDiscover. If the service account you provide has the necessary permissions across each domain you should be able to share the UM config.
