Two UC Clusters migrate to One cluster ?

Dear all,

There are two UC clusters located in North America, one for Canada, the other for U.S.  All branches have local voice gateway.

If we migrate these two clusters to one, any pros and cons?       Your thoughts and input are appreciated.

Best regards,

Master001

You need to mention exactly what apps you're talking about.

Sorry guys for the delay.

UC clusters include : CUCM, CUC, UCCX and CUPS.

Yes,  I am looking for pros and cons in terms of functionality and configuration.

Hi,

More details are required as there is no generalized pros and cons documentation for integrating clusters into one. Every deployment is different is some sense and same rules will not apply to all. You will also need to provide the following information:

Current platform/hardware on which these applications are deployed and their versions

How many servers are there in each cluster?

How many users / devices are provisioned and how are they spread over different locations, how many sites?

How are the TFTP/call processing servers deployed at different sites, how are the phone registrations distributed between different servers?

Are you facing any challenges/issues with existing deployment of two separate clusters?

These are a few items that are needed at a minimum to be able to recommend some basic pros and cons.

thanks for all for your input.    yes, integrating clusters to one is a BIG topic.  I am good for now and I may post specific questions later.

Might be a good idea to read the Collab SRND so you can fully understand the design fundamentals.

To give you a very rough idea:

Pro - centralised management.

Cons - potentially loads, depending on network quality and applications/features in use.
