Unable to access phoneview from phone in unity connection 8.x

Hi,

I completely completed phone view config on unity connection 8.x, regarding "Administering Cisco Unity" course, a 2 days course. I activated the appli user with phone 7961g controlled by this user. I also activate phone view in both phone system and user phone menu, near message locator parameter.

My problem is when I login my user, I can press key 5 to search message (message locator feature) but when I want to display messages (key 4) I have the message "invalid selection"...

Why I cannot use this key, since phone view was activated for this user?

That feature is pretty dead now - it was never well implemented.

You would be better to configure 'Visual Voicemail' that doesn't require the hybrid use of the TUI and the phone display; VV just uses a Java Midlet XML app.

Just follow the instructions carefully; e.g. use all the same names for the service etc or it doesn't work.

Thanks Aaron,

I understand Cisco encourages to use Visual Voicemail, however it is still well documented in version 8.x
