Unity 4.0(3) Unable to access the SA webpage

Unity 4.0(3) integrated with AD/Exchange with CM 4.1(2).

Today i noticed that i was unable to access the sa web page while logged in as user with full rights "ciscounity". Below is the message i receive on internet explorer.

Unrecognized error

hr=0x80040200

From: global.asa -- Initialize()

I tried rebooting the server, restarting IIS service made no difference. I was wondering if i need to have AvNotifierMgr service started and running? because i was unable to start this service because of admin rights.

Below is the the only error message i see under application and security logs on event viewer.

Event Type: Error

Event Source: CiscoUnity_CsServices

Event Category: Run

Event ID: 1061

Date: 6/28/2005

Time: 6:43:38 AM

User: N/A

Computer: CISCOUNITY

Description:

AvCsGateway: FindCsComponentsEx failed with error 0x80040200.

For more information, click: http://www.CiscoUnitySupport.com/find.php

Just need some assistance on how i can recover the sa webpage to be accessable.

Any help will be appreciated if there is any further logs or info required let me know.

Just to add i am also cant seem to find Unityinstall, unityadmin, unityDirService under AD user and computers.

Thank you,

Yavuz

Yes, in Unity 4.0(3) you need AvNotifierMgr running to start the SA - see CSCec78864.

You're going to have bigger problems if you can't get the AvNotifierMgr started. Did you follow the installation guide to create the Unity install, admin and services accounts, as well as give them the appropriate permissions?

See this section of the installation guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a00804455cf.html

I see. Pretty sure that we had created these unity accounts prior to installing unity.

Is there any way to recover these users without having to rebuild the server again?

Thank you so much.

Active Directory Users and Computers allows you to search for a user in any container, that might help you track them down.

If you can't find them, you can always create the users again, run permissions wizard as described in the doc, and then run service configuration wizard and message store configuration wizard again. That should get you back on track.

Yeah i am having all sorts of problems on this unity server from day one. I will go ahead and rebuild it from scratch and take it form the start again.

Thank you for your help though mrmccann.

Cheers!
