hello
components are:
unity 4.0.3 sr1
ccm 4.0.2.sr2
if users login at http://server/web/aa -and try to record a new greeting per phone- the get the following error:
Telephone Record and Playback:
Unknown Problems are Preventng the completion of the call.
it is no problem to record a greeting with pc, i also can initialize recording of greetings in web/sa for the user- than it works too. so only if the user tries to record greetings by phone- they get this error.
in settings- the right user ID and ip address of unity is entered.
i wasn´t able to find something that helped me resolving this problem.
Do you have any ideas?
best regards
markus

Hi Markus -
Check out this post - other folks are having problems with SP2 and Media Master - http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.1dd68f83/6#selected_message
One more thing - VMO 4.0(4) release notes - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/prod_release_note09186a008022dffa.html#wp1097906
The ViewMail client requires 4.0(4) to resolve TraP errors when clients are running WinXP SP2.

Hi -
Not sure if this would make a difference, but I did notice the url you are using is not the new one I have been using for 4.0(3) and later: http://server/ciscopca. You may be redirecting your users here from http://server/web/aa within IIS. And you may just have entered in userid in your post, but meant to say extension in the Options tab in the Media Master form. You can also use the fully qualified domain name of the Unity server, server.domain.net for example instead of the IP address (making sure you can resolve the name to the IP address of the Unity server.) Other areas to check:
- No firewall between the subscriber workstation and the Unity server.
- DCOM is enabled on the user's workstation.
Here is a good link - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/prod_troubleshooting_guide_chapter09186a00801ba613.html#1033664

hello ginger!
thanks for your help-
i´m a little bit closer now...
if i access http://server/web/sa or http://server/ciscopca from the unity server (is running windows 2k sp4) i do not get the error- and i´m able to record greetings by phone.
that means- that there has to be a problem with our windows xp sp2 clients!!!
i´ll have to make a look if there is any documentation how to resolve this problem- or how i should configure firewall of windows xp sp2.
thanks a lot for helping me!
i´ll give you all an update as soon as i have resolved it.
if anyone still resolved this issue- plaese let me know!
best regards
markus
