Hi,
Has anyone ran into a issue where a subscriber forwards a VM to another user but all subscribers get the message, instead of the one sub?
Settings: Standard Conversation on both subs, no private lists, and standard all users public dist list.
Exchange is on box.
Any way to see how message was forwarded anywhere? I did some reports but nothing for forwarded messages.
Thanks in advance.

Hello -
There are a couple of things you could check:
1. Check to see if the intended user's inbox has an Alternate Recipient (or distribution list) set.
2. Check the user's inbox, Sent Items folder for the message. It will have the "Assigned To" you can review.
3. Enable message tracking on Exchange 2000 - here is the MS link with instructions http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q246856
Note: When subscribers are added to Unity, they are added to the All Subscribers -Unityservername distribution list. This is an easy way to send voicemail to all subscribers and could have been mistakenly used by your customer.

This is just a VM install so users can't get to Exchange mailboxes with a mail client to do the other options I don't believe. is there a way to set or check these through unity or through exchange system manager?
I've been investigatng the All users PDL and suspect thats how it was mistakenly done.
On the one message, the message headers TO: field has the User it was intended for, All Subscribers
so they chose the intended subscriber and somehow also got the all subscribers on the forward list to.
They don't use the all subscribers list, so I changed the extension on it to make it harder to hit and also unchecked the address list option. Is this just for exchange or will this make it not accessible through the dial-by-name feature as well?
Thanks

Hi -
We have a UM implementation of Unity, optional conversation 1. Since I was unsure if unchecking the address list option for the All Subscribers distribution list would affect the dial by name feature of the directory, I tested it on my system. Although it no longer shows in the GAL, from my Unity conversation I was able to address a test message to All Subscribers by typing in All# - it said I had 4 matches, the distribution list and 3 subscribers.
If you wanted to check the recipient setting of a user, from your Unity server go to Start - Programs - Microsoft Exchange - Active Directory Users and Computers. Drill down to the OU container which houses the users. Double-click the selected user to open up the object properties. Select the Exchange General tab - then select Delivery Options. Check to see if the Forwarded address is selected for that user. But from your second note, I doubt this has been set.
Sincerely,
Ginger
