Unity 4.2(1) AvVariant.cpp ConvSub.dll error in event log

Hi,

Have a Unity 4.2(1) system w/8.1(3) Unity TSP. Exchange 2003 SP2.

Got 3 of these errors in log this morning, after a Phrase server error.

The PhraseServer error happened at 7:34, followed by AvCS AvVariant.cpp error at 7:45, then 7:49, then 7:52

This looks like bug CSCsd45360 but that lists multiple 4.2(1) ES's for fix , so do I need to get all of them or is this something else?

Any one of the ESes listed for CSCsd45360 should contain the fix for the bug. Multiple ESes get listed because the fix is in ConvSub.dll and so every new ES containing that file will also contain the fix. In that sense Unity ESes are sort of cumulative.

The bug id saids fixed in 4.2(1)ES05, 4.2(1)ES10, 4.2(1)ES17, 4.2(1)ES23, 4.2(1)ES38, and 4.2(1)ES40 .

However ES 27 is on CCO for download, and I am not finding a 4.2 engineering index page with 4.2 ES's like 4.1 and 4.0(5).

This ES supercedes 4.2(1)_ES3 and 4.2(1)_ES9

Defects resolved:

Is there a way you can post the latest ES with the fix or get it on CCO, or post URL of the unity 4.2 engineering special index page if there is one?

Unfortunately, ES27 doesn't touch ConvSub.dll and so it won't contain any code changes for CSCsd45360.

It looks like the ES posting with indexes to CCO stopped with 4.1. I think 4.2(1)ES27 was posted as a special case because it had some stuff needed for EFT sites or something. I don't know if there are any plans to resume posting general ESes to CCO. Your best bet would be to work with TAC. Not only can they get you any ES but they can also help zero in on the issue. At this point we don't even know for sure that CSCsd45360 is causing your event log errors.
