Unity and Window Software Update Services

Is the Windows Software Update Service supported on Unity? Our Security group has asked us if we will particapate in our corporate Windows Software Update Service. We have been assured adding this configuration to our servers will not in any way push or force patches to the systems. The WSUS system is only set up to inventory systems patches and identify any missing ones. The process of patching is supposed to still be completely in the control of the system administrator.

Support Policy for Windows Automatic Update

Windows Automatic Update (WAU) is supported on a Cisco Unity 4.

Configure WAU only to check for updates, not to install updates. Most Microsoft updates can be installed on the Cisco Unity or Bridge server as soon as they become available. However, Microsoft service packs must be qualified for use with Cisco Unity and the Bridge, and WAU does not let you distinguish between service packs and other updates.
