Unity Connection Back Up Failure

Joe Della Valle
Level 1
Level 1

We are running Version 7.1.3.10000-68 and whjen we log into the web portal we get a message along to top as follows:

"The last backup of Cisco Unity Connection failed. For more information, go to Backup > History page in the Disaster Recovery System."

Where can I find the Disaster Recovery System?

I am new to the system and don't remember reading anything related to this, nor was I involved in the set up of the system.

Any direction would be appriaciated.

Thanks....

Hi Joe,

No worries

When you log in, look in the top Right hand corner Navigation>drop down box

and you can select Disaster Recovery System.

Cheers!

Rob

Is there a group that controls access to this? My cridentials don't seem

to work, unless it uses a different cred?

Are the groups that control this access in CM?

Hi Joe,

These "Roles" are assigned in Unity Connection not CUCM;

Roles

Revised May 2009

Cisco Unity Connection offers levels of privileges for administrator accounts, set according to a list of predefined roles. Roles specify which tasks administrators can do. Before you add administrator accounts, select the roles that are assigned to each account. You can change which roles are assigned to the accounts at any time.

Connection comes with the following predefined roles. To see the specific privileges for each administrator role, in Cisco Unity Connection Administration, expand System Settings > Roles and click the name of each role. You cannot make changes to the permissions that are associated with each predefined role.

Audio Text Administrator

This role allows an administrator to manage call handlers, directory handlers, and interview handlers.

Greeting Administrator

This role allows an administrator to access the Cisco Unity Greetings Administrator, a Connection phone conversation that allows users to manage the recorded greetings for call handlers by phone.

Note You need to assign this role to a User with Voice Mailbox account because the administrator must be able to access Connection by phone.

Help Desk Administrator

This role allows an administrator to reset user passwords and unlock user accounts, and view user setting pages.

Remote Administrator

This role allows an administrator to administer the database by using remote tools.

System Administrator

This is the top-level Connection administration role. This role allows access to all Connection administrative functions, including all user and system settings, all reports, and all administration and diagnostic tools.

The default administrator account that the installer specified during initial setup of Connection is set to this role.

A System Administrator is the only role that has permission to create administrative accounts.

Technician

This role allows an administrator access to all functions that enable management of the Connection server and phone system integration settings; administrators with this role can also run all reports, use diagnostic tools, and view all system and user settings pages.

User Administrator

This role allows an administrator to manage user accounts, access all user administration functions, run user-related reports, and use user administration tools.

How to Access the Disaster Recovery System

To access the Disaster Recovery System, choose Disaster Recovery System from the Navigation drop-down list box in the upper, right corner of the Cisco Unity Connection Administration window. Log in to the Disaster Recovery System by using the same Administrator username and password that you use for Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration.

Note You set the Administrator username and password during Cisco Unity Connection installation, and you can change the Administrator password or set up a new Administrator account by using the Command Line Interface (CLI). See the Command Line Interface Reference Guide for Cisco Unified Communications Solutions for more information. The guide is available on Cisco.com at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6509/prod_maintenance_guides_list.html.

Hi Joe,

This is most likely NOT the same username/password that would be used for Unity

Connection Administration. Try logging into the OS admin in Unity Connection

and you will likely see the same error. You may need to look into this note

Administrator username and password that you use for Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration.
