Unity Connection - Broadcast Messaging

Hi,

I have a CUCM 11.5, CUC 11.5 and 2 client PC VMs which has CIPC installed in it. I created 2 users and given authorization for one user to send and update broadcast message from send message settings. I configured System Call Handler with an extension (+12012012203) and pointed the Standard Greetings Conversation to Broadcast Message Administrator.

Also created the DN for that extension in CUCM and forwarded all calls to voicemail.

From one PC, when i dial the assigned extension i hear "Welcome to Cisco Unity Connection Broadcast Message Administrator, enter your ID followed by #". At this period when i enter # for both ID and PIN, i hear "Welcome to Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System, you may dial an extension any time.....".

Even when i enter the correct user ID and PIN, i hear invalid entry. But, the PIN i entered is what i use while entering the Mailbox.

I don't know how to record and send broadcast message. Can anyone help me out in this?

The issue is solved, the problem is I entered the wrong ID. Need to enter the Extension number as user ID.

does the user have "User Can Send Broadcast Messages to Users on This Server"set under "Send Message Settings"?

Yes, as i mentioned above. I request everyone to please read the information fully and suggest a solution.

That would do it :-)

hi  Srivatsan04,

after enter Broadcast Messaging as administrator, record a message, do you know how to just send it  to a dedicated group (not all users)?

thanks.

Check out this tool:

https://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/BroadcastMessageManager/Help/Cisco%20Unity%20Connection%20BMT.htm

it allows you to defined via CSV file who should get the message, I don't believe Unity natively allows for that flexibility as broadcast message would go to everyone.
