I'm confused on the new licensing of CUCM especially on unity connection. On a professional license on cucm it says unity connection license is included. although there still an option to choose unity connection as add-on. Also what is the features included on the unity connection in a Professional License is it for vociemail only? How about the auto-attendant features?

As @TONY SMITH explained Add-on license is for adding more license if you need, When adding named users on CCW, did the system ask you to select the Add-on License ? if you miss anything on A-flex , you get a warning on the right hand side of the CCW. And also on CCW you have option to verify it.
You will be able to run the AA with professional license.

Are you referring to Flex 3.0, top level part A-FLEX-3? If so then Named User Professional includes a Unity Connection voicemail licence. The Unity Connection Add-On would be used if you need more mail boxes, for example if you have NU Enhanced some of which need voicemail.
