Unity MWI Light.

is there a way to put tow different DN's on an 7940 phone, have the message light come on even if the message is on line two?

Hi Phillip,

There is some good flexability here :) By default, the 1st line would give the Lamp and envelope and the second line would just give the envelope icon. This can be changed in CUCM so that it works the way you want.

For the 2nd Line Setting on xxxx (each phone)-

Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device

Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt

The RED Message Lamp will then work for these Secondary lines on each phone. Otherwise you will just get the "Flashing Envelope" Icon for new messages.

Cisco Unity does allow you to configure a subscriber to have multiple MWI Extensions.

In the Cisco Unity Web Administrator navigate to Subscriber --> Messages web page. Under MWI Extensions, you can add additional MWI Extensions for the subscriber.
