Hi there,

Installing a Cisco Unity Demonstration System

A demonstration system is a fully functioning version of Cisco Unity that has the limits noted in the "Limits on a Cisco Unity Demonstration System" section. A demonstration system uses one of two different license files:

Default license file (available on the Cisco Unity server).

Time-limited license file (must be ordered from Cisco).

Note Because a demonstration system is a fully functioning Cisco Unity system, installing a demonstration system requires the same level of care and attention to detail that is required of installing a system on a customer site. To successfully install a demonstration system, refer to the instructions in the Installation Guide for Cisco Unity and in the integration guide for your phone system. Cisco TAC does not provide support for Cisco Unity demonstration systems. The Installation Guide for Cisco Unity is available at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/prod_installation_guides_list.html.

Note The software for a demonstration system can be ordered online. The orderable demonstration system is the easiest way to get an entire set of the discs, including third-party software (except Windows). It is available at https://tools.cisco.com/qtc/config/jsp/configureHome.jsp. The part number is UNITY7-DEMO-K9. You must be a registered user to access this web page. If you are not a registered user, go to http://tools.cisco.com/RPF/register/register.do to register and obtain a Cisco.com user ID.

Thanks for the reply. However, there is an issue when

following the link to request a copy.

I know about these areas, but Cisco is not necessarily allowing downloads with a regular user account before dumping a mountain of cash. I expect to exist an area for testing/practices towards exam preparation but I guess not.

Hi,

If you have a CCO ID you should be able to download the DVD images, (not available for guest but you may use any CCO ID), these are meant for testing and they include a 'test' license file, this file includes all features but with very limited amount of seats.

You may download the DVD images from (please check release notes and installation guide):

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=281942013&flowid=5416&softwareid=282074319&release=7.0%282%29&rellifecycle=&relind=AVAILABLE&reltype=all

(if the link is broken please make sure you copy/paste the entire string)

Now you may also contact your local Cisco SE or AM for a lab testing/demonstration.

If this helps please rate.

Thanks for your reply. However, when I sign in and get to the download page I still get the lock next to each file and a legend affirming "contract required"

Here I submit a printscreen for reference as to what I see.

If you get that message I'm afraid no one here can help you, it is a requirement to have a service contract to download that. If you don't have one, there is no way you can download it:

Downloading Software

Registration and Login requirements

Log in required to access software with a lock . Guest level users can  access non restricted software (firmware, drivers, etc.) Obtain a login and  create a user profile at the Cisco.com Registration page if you don't have one.

Service Contract must be associated to the user profile to  access the software with . View instructions.

Have you tried the instructions to order it via the DCT? Not sure if you will be able to order it, but it won't be free.

+-i tried that already and get a message shown below...

It is frustating that students can't have access to the tools necessary to pass Cisco's own tests without resorting to non reputable means for obtaining them. But that's the only route, I guess.

Thanks for all the attempts of helping with this issue.
