subscriber A has a msg. tries to forward msg to subscriber B. during the process, system plays subscriber B recorded name and subscriber A is prompted to press # to transfer msg. after pressing #, system says 'sorry, that extension does not exist'.
background: unity um 4.0(3) - no service packs applied. exchange 2000. no entries in the event viewer.

does it do this for all subscribers or just a particular subscriber (presumably the target of the forwarded message)? Are there any errors in the application event log when you do this? If you run dbWalker do any errors (i.e. missing primary extension) come up against "subscriber B" here?

my mistake. this is vm only. let me clarify this a bit more. sub A tries to forward msg to sub B. after system plays recorded voice, system plays announcement that "recipients email address does not exist. if this is a new recipient..." and so on. however, sub C can forward msg to sub B with no problem. no entries in event viewer/ application log (or any other logs). haven't run dbWalker.
