update ctl file after upgrade cucm mixed-mode v11.5su2 to v14.0su2

Hello,

can someone help me to know if the update ctl file is needed after a cucm upgrade, in mixed-mode, from v11.5su2 to v14.0su2.

For the upgrade (no PCD migration), i use the "Direct Refresh Upgrade" method

in https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/14_0_1/cucm_b_upgrade-and-migration-guide_14 /cucm_b_upgrade-guide-1251su2_chapter_01101.html

in can read in the "post-upgrade task flow":

If the cluster is in mixed mode, manually update the CTL file. Reset the phones to reflect the latest updates.

Note

You can skip this for Unified Communications Manger Migration.

Update CTL file

During an upgrade from Unified Communications Manger pre 12.0 to 12.0 or later version, the ITLRecovery certificate is generated per cluster. If the cluster is in mixed mode, manually update the CTL file. Reset the phones to reflect the latest updates.
actually, i have test the upgrade in a lab's environnement (i have exported all real CUCM's VM, and re-import these VM in my lab environnement).
I did the upgrade to v14, and everything work fine, the phone work well in secure-mode, all is ok.
I did not do the ctl update
My question is: it's mandatory to do this after a Direct refresh upgrade? (it's not a migration with PCD)
thanks

Hello Gilles,

For more information on the matter please refer to https://bst.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvv13565 and https://bst.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvr48846

Thanks Kaloyan,

After my upgrade 11.5su2 to 14su2, i checked the ITLrecovery, it's the same from 11.5 to 14
The CTL is the same from 11.5 to 14 (signed by the same Callamanger cert)
Phone have correct CTL
if I understand correctly, I don't have to do a CTL update now. I just need to plan to do it before regenerating the callmanager certificate
