Hello Members
We have Cisco UCS C220 M3SBE.We are planning to upgrade the CUCM from 9.1(X) to 11.5.
The Current OVA spec is as below for CUCM 9.1, which is for 1000 users as per the readme document.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (32-bit)
CPU: 2 vCPU with 800 MHz
Memory: 4 GB
Disk: 1 - 80 GB
The OVA Spec for the version 11.5 is as below
CUCM 1000 user node - C200:
Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) configuration that supports up to
1000 users per node. For use on C-200 only.
Details:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit)
CPU: 2 vCPU with 800 MHz reservation
Memory: 6 GB with 6 GB reservation
Disk: 1 - 80 GB disk with pre-aligned disk partitions
From the above details I can see we need to increase the RAM size ,RHEL & Network adapter to "VMXNET 3".But from the upgrade doc it says need to install this cop file to increase the disc size. Here I can see both have 80GB, do we still need to install this file "ciscocm.vmware-disk-size-reallocation-1.0.cop.sgn"?

Take another good look at the guides, it clearly states that the step is OPTIONAL
Step 2 (Optional) For an upgrade from 9.x or earlier, if you need to increase the vDisk space to meet the space requirements of a refresh upgrade, install the following COP file: ciscocm.vmware-disk-size-reallocation-.cop.sgn

Hi Jaime,
I just confused by seeing this and you video(upgrdae 8.6 to 11.0).I saw that eventhough the spec for VDisk is same for IM&P, you are installing this COP file.By installing this COP file , for a same spec like in my case will this increase the /common partition automatically?

The upgrade documentation has changed a lot since I made the video (and I used those old docs to make the video), that's why I refer people to it, to make sure things have not changed, and if they have, to use the newer docs for the process.
No, just installing the cop file will not automagically adjust the vDisk size/partition size, etc, that I DO show in the video how it has to be done..

Hi Jaime,
Thank you for your update.Below is my show status out contains the disk space details. From this I can see there is not much free space availble in the common partition. The current version is running with HDD with 80 GB, for 1000 user OVA can we only increse the disk size from 80 to 100 GB? or we need to go for a higher user one (2500 , 7500 etc)
