Hello and Merry Christmas.
I am the manager of a Call Center of 10 agents running on a BE6000M (ESXi 5.5) hosting the following solutions.
- Cisco CUCM 10.5.1
- Cisco UCCX 10.6.1
- Cisco Mediasense
Today we want to migrate the CUCM and the UCCX to version 12.5 and replace the Mediasense by the Imagicle solution compatible with the CUCM.
However I would like to know:
- Is it possible to convert my current traditional licenses to Flex License on a minimum or maximum duration?
- If not, do I need to work with my provider to renew all licenses to A-Flex 3.0
- How do I manage the upgrade of the BE6000 ESXi which is at 5.5 but the CUCM 12.5 and UCCX 12.5 only support version 6.5? Do I have to pay a new license to VMware?

Not just vmware, for migrating UC applications to a major versions you need new licenses. In your case, you are migrating from 10.x to 12.x. So you need 12.X license
CUCM versions 10.X and Perpetual licenses has reached EOL . So the only option is to purchase new Flex license.
If your Be6K has vmware SWSS, version 6.X License can be ordered through MCE portal . Be6K smartnet provide you vmware Swss.
If your hardware is not under smartnet, renew the smartnet. make sure your vmware SWSS is also included in the renewal BOQ.
I would suggest to contact a local Cisco partner or Contact Local Cisco SE.

- Is it possible to convert my current traditional licenses to Flex License on a minimum or maximum duration? You need a valid SWSS For new license When upgrading to major a versions . 10.X is an EOL version and there wont be any SWSS available for this product. So the only option is to get the new license for versions 12.X through a Cisco partner.
- If not, do I need to work with my provider to renew all licenses to A-Flex 3.0. 10.X is an EOL version, so you cant renew the SWSS
- How do I manage the upgrade of the BE6000 ESXi which is at 5.5 but the CUCM 12.5 and UCCX 12.5 only support version 6.5? Do I have to pay a new license to VMware? If you renew the BE6K smartnet, it includes the vmware SWSS. If you have valid SWSS for your VMware, You can place the order for Vmware 6.5 license key through MCE portal.
