Hi,
I've a client running Unity Connection 8.0 and users have Outlook 2010.
Client needs a feature where voice-mails can be delivered/responded to from same Outlook Inbox.
I reviewed some documentation but couldn't get it clear how to make it work on my combination of softwares.
As per "Compatibility matrix of Unity connection with software on User PCs" from the following URL:
It says, Outlook 2010 supports only view-mail plugin 8.5 and 8.6.
Release notes of Viewmail 8.5 and 8.6 say, only "Single Inbox" feature allows users to receive voicemails in Outlook Inbox. If IMAP integration is used, the voicemails are going to come into different folder.

I need some inputs how I can make this work, end users need voice-mails in same inbox in which they receive e-mails.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
If your goal is to ultimately have voicemail delivered to users' email inbox (unified messaging), you need to minimally be at Unity Connection 8.5 or higher and you'll want to configure Single Inbox. Viewmail for Outlook doesn't accomplish Unified Messaging in and of itself, this is simply a Outlook plugin that allows users to reply/forward/play, etc. from their Outlook inbox.
Hope that helps,
Brad

Hi Bradford,
Will like to post what need to be setup in the Cisco Unity Connection server to make it work. I know how to setup the Viewmail plugin but how to setup the unity connection Unified messaging. Thanks

Hi Ali,
You'll want to follow the Unified Messaging guide here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/10x/unified_messaging/guide/10xcucumgx.html
Make sure you review all of the system requirements first. Then decide on how you will configure the feature depending on the version of Exchange and if it's hosted in the cloud (Office365).

Thanks Bradford,
First thanks for reference material. Its my mistake I should have provided more info. We have CUCM 8.6.2, Cisco unity 8.6.2 and Outlook 2010. I know how to install the viewmail but need to work out how to configure the Unity connection unified messaging. We already have LDAP linked with CUCM & Unity Connection.
I will check the material if it make out the sense more easily. Let me know if you can advice or provide the material related with my software versions.
