Hi

I have a doubt about the call flow of the Webex Calling

SITE with the local gateway

Call signaling flow of the user at the same site
Webex APP -> Webex Calling -> Local GW

Media Flow with ICE
Webex APP -> Local GW

User at a remote site or home

Call signaling flow of the user at the same site
Webex APP -> Webex Calling -> Local GW

Media Flow with ICE
Webex APP -> Local GW

Do i need a vpn connection from the remote users for the site that the local gateway is hosted?

Am i right with these flows?

It’s not very clear what calling platform you’re using, is it CM or Webex Multi Tenant? If it’s the latter then can you please outline what you are using the local gateways for as these are typically used to integrate an on-premises calling platform, such as Communication Manager with Webex Calling.

Hi Roger,

Our customer is planning to migrate from CUCM to Webex Calling. They want a local gateway at their site.

My doubt is about the flow of the remote users. Do they need to establish a VPN connection to make external calls through the local gateway that is on the customer HQ?

The media will flow from the calling entity to the inside interface of your SBC acting as the LGW. So there is a need for any on-premises calling endpoint to communicate with this interface.
