Hello,
A friend of mine just purchased a used MCS-7835-I1 server without the CCM software. Now they need a CCM 5.0 license. A sales rep told them that they would need the LIC-CM5.0-7835-I1 which apparently comes with 14000 license units. However my friend only needs about 100 license units. So my question is: if they purchase the CCM software for 7815, will it work with their 7835 server?

Hi, you'll need the software the sales rep. told: LIC-CM5.0-7835-I1 that it has no licenses units, you'll need the licenses units too, for your case is LIC-CM-DL-100 (if all the devices are from Cisco).
This mode of licensing is different from the initial mode at Call Manager 4.x versions in which the sofware comes with the licenses included.
You can find more information at:

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Thanks for the info. It was helpful. My other question was whether a lower cost appliance license e.g. LIC-CM5.0-7815-I1= or LIC-CM5.0-7825-I1=, will work with MCS 7835-I1 server?
In other words, if he tries to install the CCM that is meant for IBM MCS-7815 server on a MCS-7835 IBM server, will installation fail? or will it install ok but will not perform well?

I think you can't do it, but I don't know because I haven't tested it.
