Hi Guys,

Is it possible to create an audio conference number that allow to dial from couple of users.

I know meet-me and ad-hoc conference options but it will be use any emergency situations and customer demand it.

I think I can use asterisk based things but I just wondered if call manager can do that.

Regards,

Baris.

No there is no such functionality native to CUCM prior to CUCM 11. However in CUCM 11 a native conference bridge functionality has been added. If you just need a conference bridge then CUCM 11 will provide that but if you are looking for blast dial (explained below) you will need a conferencing solution to achieve that.

Refer to below:

Conference Now Overview

The Conference Now feature allows both external and internal callers to join a conference by dialing a Conference Now IVR Directory Number, which is a centralized conference assistant number. An IVR application guides the caller to join the conference by playing announcements.

A conference is established using a Meeting Number, which is the same as the Self-Service User ID. The meeting number is configured by the administrator in the end user's window. The Self-Service User ID is usually same as the user's primary extension number.

The host (End User) provides the Meeting Number, Time slot, and Attendees Access Code to all the participants. The host requires a PIN to join the conference, but the participants do not require it. If a participant dials into the meeting before the host, the participant hears Music on Hold (MOH).

After the host enters both Meeting Number and PIN correctly, a conference bridge is allocated based on the MRGL (Media Resource Group List) of the host. Participants who join before the start of the meeting are redirected to the same conference bridge.

The host can set the Attendees Access Code for a secure conference call. For more information, see topics related to Set the Access Code for Conference Now in the Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal Guide.

But having said that, you may be after a feature called blast dial, that will need a proper conference solution - CWMS to achieve this. Refer to this section of CWMS:

About WebEx Blast Dial

Cisco WebEx Blast Dial lets users identified as meeting hosts, call a phone number and enter a host PIN (if required) to instantly start the audio portion of a meeting. At the same time, the system automatically places calls to a list of participants defined for that Blast Dial group. Within minutes, the host can begin discussing an urgent matter or provide detailed instructions for handling an important issue with the people who have approval authority or are trained for emergency situations. In addition to starting the audio portion of the meeting, the host can access an automatically generated email to start the online portion of the meeting to share images, video, or electronic information with the meeting participants.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello Terry,

Thanks for reply. Yes, CWMS' Blast Dial feature is proper solution I have been looking for.

Regards,

Baris.

No worries Baris - as mentioned above its a bit advanced functionality and can only be achieved by CWMS.

Terry,

Thanks for the info.

Is there a way to integrate WebEx with CUCM?

For example Some users join a conference using conference now and some using voip call on WebEx? or replacing the PSTN part of WebEx with conference now?

Thanks,
