Hello all,

In my lab's UCS I'm experiencing this "non fatal config warning" message everytime I make changes in a profile, but this is only happenning these last recent weeks...and I've been working with the UCS since many months ago. Only important change suspicious of having triggered it, is the recent upgrade to 1.4 Balboa release.

Anyone could help me out on this?

Thanks a lot,

Dani,

This warning is just informing you use a proper value for the OUI portion of the WWPN block.  This could lead to problems with some SAN vendors.

When creating a pool, it's suggested to follow the industry format and suggested to use Cisco's OUI prefix.  Below is a breakdown of the WWN requirements.

When creating a new WWN pool, this is suggested in the entry screen.

Your WWPN pool is 20:00:00:00:00:DB:01.

If you change your WWPN pool to match this recommendation the alert will cease. As the warning suggests, this may be enforced in subsequent software revisions.  Better to change it sooner than later.

Regards,

Robert

Dani,

Can you provide:

1. The exact error message, either from the warning logs or a screen shot.

2. A screen shot showing the WWNN/WWPN pools you have defined.

Thanks,

Robert

Here you have them.
