Adding new hard drives to c240

I hope this is a stupid question.  My c240 currently has 4x 1TB hard drives in it that we use for vmware.  I started running out of space so I purchased 6x 1TB drives to add to the chassis to create a new datastore for vmware to be able to expand.

How do I add the new drives in the chassis as a new array?  Currently they are still in the boxes.  On my old dell chassis I could just put them in blank spots, fire up Dell OpenManage, and create from there.

Thanks.

I will assume you have a standalone server (not integrated with UCSM - Management for Blade servers).

If you are running CIMC 1.5 or later, you should be able to just go to the disks in the Storage tab and then you will see a window like this where you can create your new array without rebooting the server :  http://tools.cisco.com/squish/373e8D

If it helps, please rate it.
