Adding vNIC

Hello,

So I have a server that needs a vNIC added. It is using an updating service template however there are others using the same template and I do not want those to have this vNIC presented but I want this server to be able to still receive updates that the template gets.

I was thinking;

1. unbind from template

2. add vnic

3. rebind to template.

Is it this simple? Any repercussions? I know the vNIC addition will require a reboot. (or atleast it has in the past)

I am running 2.28d

Thanks

Hey Adam,

When you re-apply an updating template to a service profile, all changes will be reverted back to match the updating template.

You would need to leave the service profile unbound from the template to keep the new vNIC added.

I was hoping that wasn't the case.

Thanks
