Hi all,
We added 2 vNICs directly to a Service Profile that was bound to a Service Profile Template, and it looks like after rebooting the SP the vNICs order was screw up and we lost access to our Boot LUN (iSCSI).
So, I made some changes to get it working again but I would like to remove those vNICs from the Service Profile and add them to our Service Profile Template.
I’m ok with reinstalling VMware, so my questions are:
- Should I use a vNIC/vHBA Placement policy and choose Specify Manually and place the vNICs in the desired order instead of letting the system place it automatically?
Per Cisco, Let System Perform Placement: If you are configuring the service profile/template for iSCSI boot, choose this option. (https://community.cisco.com/t5/data-center-documents/cisco-ucs-vnic-vhba-placement-issue-with-desired-order-in-vmware/ta-p/3147854)
- Is unbind/re-bind the service profile enough to remove the recently added vNICs or I should disassociate / reassociate the SP.
- Do I need to delete all the vNICs in the Service Priofile Template and start from scratch? I read that in a couple of posts.
Thanks!
