Hi all,

I am trying to setup a raid configuration on my c210 M2,

i am not using the onboard raid controllerd because i am using SAS Drive's.

In my c210 there is a Mezzanine card, the labal say's: S98 SAS: 000 298D51

The manufactur is ARM made in korea.

Now this is strange to me, because when i search google for the LSI 1064 Mezzanine Card i get a LSI branded chip, not a ARM like i have.

I cant find a way to enter the configuration utility with a command like Ctrl-C or Ctrl-H.

I try'd to dissable the onboard SATA and dissabled quiet boot.

Nothing seems to get me my raid configuration utility for my sas drives!

Someone can help me?

Below is a picture i took of my SAS Mezzanine Card:

What are the details you are encountering?

You are using the LSI 1064 array controller.  This is configured by launching the LSI Bios.   You will need to press F2 to get the MB BIOS and disable quick boot (may not removed and disabled in the latest bios) and confirm the onboard controller does not have SW RAID enabled (select enhanced to have DVD access).

Once done and let us know if you see the drives when the LSI1064 bios is shown.  You will need to enter the 1064 BIOS to configure the array.  If the drives do not show, you will need to take off the forward top plate to confirm the SAS cable is connected.  If you have the SAS extender installed, the LSI will connect to one of the four connectors.  Each of the four connectors is associated with four drive bays.  The connect/bay associated is shown on the extender next to the connector.  Confirm the drives are in the correct drive bays.

Lastly, the 1064 may not be fully seated on the motherboard.  Confirm the 1064 and cables are fully seated.

Hope this helps,

Dan Laden

I did disable quiet boot, also set the raid settings of the onboard raid to enhanced.

The cable is connected to port '3' on the sas extender when i took a look at it.

Will this mean i have to use drives 9-12?

i am unable to enter the 1064 bios of the Mezzanine card there is no post/bios message about it.

Maybe it only show's when i use the right drive bay's?

Thanks in advanced, i am no going to try the drives in bay 9 and 10.

,

Edit:

I tryed it with the drivers in bay 9 and 10 but i am still unable to enter the Bios of the 1064 controller, the bios settings of the c210 seems correct to me...

I dont understand why i dont see a post massage of the raid Mezzanine card...

Edit2:

I made some screenshots of my bios settings:

If the quiet boot and SW RAID are disabled, and the 1064 is properly seated and you do not see the LSI BIOS, you will want to open a case with TAC to explore further.

I can access the LSI 1064 configuration utility with Ctrl-C, but i CAN'T locate the SAS hd drives.

drives are in the correct drive bays 1-4

Mezzanine Card cable is connected to 1-4

on board SATA conn 1-4 is disconnected  ( was disconnected )

Did You solve it ?

EDIT :

SATA Mode : Enhanced

Boncho,

What does your BIOS have set for the Advanced - Mass Storage Controller Configuration - SATA Mode ?

Robert

Also, review your order to confirm you have the SAS cable and not the SATA cable.  Multiple cases like this have been caused by using the wrong cable.

R210-SASCBL-002=      Long SAS Cable for C210 (connects to SAS Extender)

R210-SATACBL-002=      Internal SATA Cable for a base UCS C210 Server

Since you are using SAS drives, you will want the SAS cable.
